First team

A – Sean Makar, Lakeland/Panas: The senior was built to play in a run-and-gun offense with his ability to change speed and direction. He finished with 61 goals and 47 assists. Makar is heading for Binghamton.

A – Brian Reda, Pleasantville: The junior is powerful enough to deal with defenses that bring help in a hurry. He finished with 75 goals and 31 assists. Reda committed to play at Fairfield.

A – Jamison Embury, Yorktown: The junior has impressive hands and feet, which allow him to get things done in tight quarters. He finished with 51 goals and 32 assists. Embury committed to play at Marist.

BOYS LAX: Brett Makar is the Westchester/Putnam POY

BOYS LAX: Matt McCleary is the Rockland POY

BOYS LAX ALL-STARS: Rockland all-county teams, more

FOGO – Rob DiNota, Westlake: The junior had a breakout season and his faceoff dominance was a primary reason why the Wildcats rarely lost momentum. He finished with 63 goals and 50 assists.

MF – Kyle Casey, Yorktown: The senior was often getting extra attention, so he set up teammates and picked his spots. He finished with 37 goals and 41 assists. Casey is heading for Albany.

MF – Declan McDermott, Pleasantville: The junior continues to find ways to finish and is lethal on the run. He finished with 54 goals and 28 assists. McDermott committed to play at Georgetown.

MF – Hunter Embury, Yorktown: The junior was the handyman, moving the ball, winning faceoffs, catching and shooting. He finished with 41 goals and 12 assists. Embury committed to play at Marist.

LSM – Jose Boyer, Yorktown: The senior was hard to shake, and when he caught site of a ground ball the Huskers were transitioning in a blink. Boyer is heading for Notre Dame following a PG year.

D – Braden Burke, John Jay: The junior is a lock-down pole capable of dealing with size and speed. A knee injury ended his season in the playoffs. Burke committed to play at Duke.

D – Gibson Smith, Pelham: The senior is a hyperactive impact player on the defensive end who made opponents think twice about hanging onto the ball. Smith is heading to Georgetown.

D – Brett Makar, Yorktown: The junior is a complete package. He utilizes size, athleticism, intangibles and IQ while dealing with the best offensive player each game. Makar committed to play at Maryland.

G – James Swartz, Bronxville: The senior is not known for making a lot of highlight stops. He’s just remarkably consistent, with a save percentage above .600. Swartz is heading for Harvard.

Coach - Hunter Burnard, Westlake: An upset win over Bronxville last spring definitely set a tone for the best season in school history, which included the program’s first-ever Section 1 title.
