Vincent Cappelli, Yorktown: This senior linebacker, who also plays guard on offense, was a standout in the middle of the Yorktown defense. At 5-foot-11 and 205 pounds, he has some size, but he also has the athleticism toroam the field in pursuit of ball carriers.

High school sports: Here's how our Hudson Valley team will cover them
Aidan Carton, Nyack: The senior, who is a solid 6-foot-4 and 280 pounds, was an all-section pick last season for Nyack. He was a two-way starter who made a noticeable impact despite the RedHawks being limited to just three games.
Michael Dawson, Valhalla: He suffered a broken thumb in the first game of his junior year, but Dawson, wearing a cast, showed his toughness by steppingin to play offensive line the remainder of the season. The fourth-year starter, who was a 1,000-yard passer on Valhalla's Section 1 championship team as a sophom*ore, is expected to be back under center as a senior.
Chris DiChiara, John Jay-Cross River: This lacrosse star had a breakout sophom*ore season, playing both wide receiver and running back while alsospending time at defensive back andkick returner. He's one of the fastest players in Section 1, and may even seetime at quarterback as a junior.
Justin Federico, Iona Prep: The 6-foot-4, 280-pound senior returns alongside Becker. They anchoredthe interior of anoffensive line that has since lost both starting tackles to graduation. Federico hasalready picked up Division I offers from Wagner and Marist.
Lennyn Fulgencio, North Rockland: The senior has plenty of versatility. The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder played offensive and defensive line last spring, but he's expected to play some fullback and tight end as well this season.
Frank Gagliardo, New Rochelle: On a team that lost a lot of talent to graduation again, Gagliardo is a welcome returner for the Huguenots. The productive 6-foot-4, 250-pounder is back at both left tackle and nose guard.
Jack Garnett, Rye: Garnett was an all-conference pick who started at both offensive line and at outside linebacker last spring on a retooled Rye team. He showed his full skillset on defense, flashing both power and speed, and was a sure tackler.
Julian Glantz, Scarsdale: Glantz has been a standout performer the last two seasons for the Raiders. They'll utilize the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder, who can run, at both fullback and linebacker.
Jaylen Johnson, Stepinac: The 6-foot-2, 215-pound senior has ideal skills for a pass rusher. He displayed a quick first step and power getting to the quarterback while playing a big role on Stepinac's defense as a junior.
Justin Joly, Iona Prep: In his second year as a varsity target, Joly led the Gaels' talentedreceiving corps last spring. The senior hasplenty of range at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, and gave his commitment to Delaware this summer after picking up several Division I offers.
Samson Joseph, Suffern: The senior proved last spring he was one of the fastest 200-meter sprinters in the state. Despite his size, the 5-foot-5, 130-pound Joseph was a three-way contributor on the football field who made some of the biggest plays for the Mounties at receiver, defensive back and kick returner.
Ethan Krauss, Somers: The senior was a force at linebacker, playing in the middle and leading the team in tackles last spring on perhaps the section's top defense. At 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, he's also a weapon at tight end.
John Krebs, Suffern: The senior has received raves from his coaches for his smarts, skill and toughness. He's a future college lineman who, at 6-foot-1 and 250 pounds, plays both guard and defensive tackle with equal aplomb.
Owen Kovacs, Rye: The Bucknell lacrosse commit shared the quarterback position as a junior last spring but still threw for 520 yards and seven touchdowns in just six games. He should earn the bulk of the snaps, leading an offense stocked with returning talent.
Trey Mancuso, Somers: After playing a reserve role last spring for the Tuskers, Mancuso opened eyes on the college camp circuit when he ran a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash. The coaching staff believes he'llmake a major impact at receiver and safety as a senior.
Josh Massi, Carmel: On a team with sophom*ores and juniors sliding into big roles, Massi quickly became a focal point on offense. He'll be the go-to back and play linebacker on a team with Class AA championship aspirations.
James McCauley, Stepinac: After playing two seasons with the Crusaders, the highly-touted quarterback transferred to Carrollton (Ga.) High School last fall due to the uncertainty surrounding New York football. He started at quarterback for an 8-3 team and displayed a strong, accurate arm that should help lead the offense in his return to Stepinac.
Kaloni McIntyre, Iona Prep: The 6-foot-3, 200-pound McIntyre was an impact player at outside linebacker last spring for the Gaels. He's received plenty of recruiting interest and picked up his first Division I offer from Bryant last month.
Marco McKnight, Yorktown: McKnight was all over the field as a junior, playing running back, wide receiver and outside linebacker, while even handling a blocking role at times in some of Yorktown's unbalanced offensive sets. His length and explosiveness should give the Huskers plenty of options.
Maleek McNeil, Panas: The massive McNeil, who is 6-foot-8 and 340 pounds, returned home to Panas for his senior year after playing for Williston Northhampton, a prep school in Massachusetts. The two-way tackle iscommitted to Penn State, but also had offers from Auburn, Boston College, Rutgers, Syracuse and others.
Zyian Moultrie-Goddard, Iona Prep: Already in his third year as a starter at linebacker, Moultrie-Goddard is a force who, with a 6-foot-2, 240-pound frame, delivers big hits. He's already been offered by Arizona State, Tennessee, Syracuse, Rutgers and West Virginia.
Conor O'Neil, Bronxville: Although he was limited to just one game last season with the Broncos, O'Neil made a major impact. He's back at quarterback, but has received heavy recruiting interest (including four Division I offers) and has been coveted as a wide receiver, tight end and linebacker due to a 6-foot-4, 220-pound frame.
Jake Polito, Somers: He's already in his third year as a starter for the Tuskers after become the onlyfreshman to start for Tony DeMatteo in 52 years. The 6-foot-3, 285-pound junior became anall-section pick as a sophom*ore last spring and is Somers' next Division I recruit.
Pat Reynolds, Clarkstown North: The 6-foot-4, 285-pound senior transferred home after starting at center for New Jersey's Paramus Catholic last year. He should also be an anchor of the Rams' interior defensive line and serve as their long snapper.
Ellis Robinson IV, Iona Prep: Although he's just a sophom*ore, the 6-foot, 170-pound Robinson is a returning starter at cornerback on a stacked Gaels' team. He's a major Division I recruit already (Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss, Arizona, Penn State and others)who was recently invited to the 2024 All-American Bowl in Texas. He's a top-five prospect in the Class of 2024, according to 247Sports.
Lonjezo Sandram, Mamaroneck: At 6-foot-1, 195 pounds, the senior is blessed withboth size and speed. That has allowedhim to be both the Tigers' every down back and a force at defensive end.
Jack Sullivan, Valhalla: Sullivan, who is now a senior, is one of few players in Section 1 to receive either all-section or all-conference accolades each of the last two seasons. The guard/middle linebacker was a key piece of Valhalla's 2019 Class C championship team.
Dominick Telesco, Carmel: The 6-foot-1, 195-pound senior was one of very few holdovers from the 2019 Class AA runner-up and helped lead a 5-1 team last spring. He's a two-way lineman, but might be most dangerous at defensive end.
Marc Toupuissant, Spring Valley: The 5-foot-11 Toupuissant was an all-section pick at cornerback last season thanks to his athleticism and cover skills. After the Tigers lost a lot of skill talent to graduation, expect him to see a bigger role on offense as a senior.
A.J. Troilo, Harrison: With most of Harrison's skill players gone to graduation, Troilo will be counted on as a go-to running back. He's already proven to be adept as a runner and receiver. The third-year starterisn't afraid to be physical on defense.
Caden Whaling, Rye: The North Carolina lacrosse commit led all of Section 1 in rushing with 901 yards and scored 11 touchdowns as a junior. At6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, he has plenty of size to pair with his athleticism.
Dylan Yang, Suffern: The 6-foot-4, 250-pound senior, who played defensive end and tight end last spring for the Mounties, has earned four Division I offers this offseason. He's being coveted by West Point, Lehigh, Dartmouth and Bucknell.
