It’s a good time to be a Detroit sports fan, if for no other reason than the stadium food. Detroiters aren’t fair-weather fans and it seems that we’re rewarded for our loyalty with food and drink options that go far beyond the typical hot dogs, popcorn, and beer. Maybe our favorite team is having a bad week (or season), but no matter. We’re still treated at the concession stands, with a big showing of Detroit-based restaurants providing fans with flavors that might be otherwise inaccessible to ballpark-goers who don’t get much of a chance to visit the city outside of game days.
Each year, Ilitch Sports and Comerica Park reveal what’s new at the stadium and this year, fans can expect technical upgrades like the installation of a 15,000-square-foot video board — which company brass say is the second largest ballpark screen in Major League Baseball. A new space has also been created specifically for visitors with sensory-processing needs in mind. Fans can find this sensory room located outside of Section 210.
As for the food, expect an even more robust variety of local restaurants featuring dishes you might not automatically think of as typical ballpark food, as well as a rotation of ambitious pop-ups. From peel-and-eat shrimp and barbecue burritos, to tortas made with locally-sourced braised beef and filling southwest rice bowls, find out what Comerica Park has in store for you this 2024 season.

New Menu Options
Here’s what’s new for 2024 at Comerica Park.
The Corner Taproom: Perhaps the biggest change to come to Comerica’s stadium food offerings this year is the revamp of the menu at the Corner Taproom. Eater Award-winning Marrow has taken over the space and with it, a unique way to enjoy some of its butcher shop classics. The team put together a menu just for the park, including a bacon burger featuring two patties made from a dry-aged beef and bacon blend; a torta loaded with beef barbacoa; and a grilled Andalusia sausage topped with chimichurri, pickled red onion, crema, and cilantro. Being situated in such as dedicated space allows for a little extra elbow room to enjoy the meal, and since the bar has its own liquor license, guests can move about freely back to the ballpark area, beer in hand. Slows Bar BQ Burritos: A burrito is the perfect mobile food. Period. Why we haven’t been enjoying burritos in stadiums all along is beyond me, but luckily, the folks at Slows have found that a 12-inch flour tortilla makes for the perfect wrapping for their smoked chicken, vegan chorizo, or pulled pork. Detroit Water Ice Factory: Enjoy this unique, refreshing snack, available in strawberry lemonade, blue raspberry, and orange cream flavors. [Where to find: Comerica Big Cat Court/Section 138]
Pierogi grilled cheese slider: Corktown adjacent spot Green Dot Stables has its sliders on deck again this year, offering a bundle of three with a side of truffle fries. For a Polish twist, this year, try the pierogi grilled cheese slider made with Valveeta cheese, sauerkraut, and a Morney sauce. Charcoal grilled chicken wings, street corn nachos: Taqueria el Rey made its Comerica Park debut in the 2023 season and this year, the beloved southwest Detroit spot is bringing a taste its popular grilled chicken to the stadium with charcoal-grilled wings made in the taqueria’s own adobo rub. Fans can also get in on walking taco vibes with the street corn nachos topped with Hatch chili queso, pico de gallo, cotija cheese, corn, and jalapeños [Where to find: Miller Lite Market Section 149]
SmashBurger: The smash burger trend is here to stay at Comerica, and at Smash Burger, that’s just what you’ll get: two smashed patties topped with cheese and caramelized onions and served in a Martin’s potato roll with burger sauce. [Where to find: Big Cat Court and Section 327]
Cheesesteak: Grab a cheesesteak sandwich or a cheesesteak hot dog. Both options come topped with Hatch chili queso, peppers, and onions. [Where to find: Section 139]
Hot Honey Chicken Tenders: Each other comes with three chicken tenders tossed in hot honey and a side of fries. [Where to find: Sections 151 and 336]

Rotating Pop-Ups [Where to find: Section 116]
Comerica Park has in recent years begun to welcome a variety of Detroit-based food businesses to pop-up on a rotating basis. Each offering is available on selected dates throughout the season.
Chilled peel-and-eat shrimp, hush puppies: Popular Ferndale seafood destination Voyager can now be found at Comerica Park, proving once again that shrimp is perhaps the perfect snack food — no matter the setting. The peel-and-eat shrimp is served with Comeback sauce and a wedge of lemon and comes in a paper tray. Bite-sized hush puppies with honey butter and lemon are also available here.
Arepas: El Rey de las Arepas — former Tigers great Miguel “Miggy” Cabrera’s favorite spot in Detroit for Venezuelan food — returns this year with arepas filled with your choice of chicken or beef, along with garlic sauce.
Southwest rice bowl: Breadless, the growing chain of breadless sandwich-makers, has expanded into the bowl world and for baseball fans, the eatery has come up with a filling southwest rice bowl available with roasted chicken or falafel, avocado spread, cilantro avocado sauce, white cheddar, monterey jack, peppers, onions, black beans, on a warm bed of brown rice.
Gluten-Free and Vegan Options
Gluten-free food options are available throughout Comerica Park. They include french fries, sausages and hot dogs (sans bun), popcorn, hummus and veggies, and more. For vegans, the options include Beyond Burgers, fruit cups, and salad in a jar (minus the ranch dressing). Many of the items from both of these categories are available at the grab and go section in the Miller Lite Market.
Happy Hour
Happy Hour is back during the first hour after gates open of every home game on Comerica Landing. Patrons can expect a variety of drinks and snacks starting at $5.
Stadium Party Areas
Comerica Park has two options for parties available by reservation, the party plazas and party decks. Three plaza options are available — with one that can accommodate up to 250 people — and are situated above the Big Cat Court behind section 321 and include Upper Reserved Infield seats, as well as a picnic buffet. The three party decks are located behind section 210, 212, and 214. Both options include meal packages of hot dogs, boneless chicken wings, Little Caesars pizza, vegetable spring rolls, and potato chips, Pepsi products, and water.

Stadium Dining by Location
Comerica Bank Big Cat Court: This food court features most of the stadium’s dining selections in a central location with a variety of stands labeled for downtown, Mexicantown, Corktown, Greektown, Michigan State Fair, and Midtown. Expect options ranging from elephant ears and Guernsey ice cream to frozen daiquiris, gyros, and soft pretzels. [Gate A Section 119]
Tiger Den Lounge: Specialty menu items. Limited access. [Section 131]
Brushfire Grill: This is a better option for vegetarians, since it offers black bean burgers, veggie dogs, and even a hummus plate, but there’s plenty for the meat eaters too, like pork rinds, turkey legs, pulled pork, beef brisket, and the new chicken bacon cheddar sandwich. They even serve margaritas. [Comerica Bank Big Cat Court and Section 131]
Blue Moon Bases Loaded Bar: The Upper Deck lounge features an air conditioned and heated seating area complete with a bar that’s open to the public. It offers bar snacks, draft and bottled beers, and liquor. [Section 329-330]
Tiger Club Bar/Dining: While this is the option for fancier drinks and a buffet, the access is restricted, so it’s not a viable option for most fans. Limited access. [Enter at corner of Witherell and Elizabeth Street]
Michigan’s Craft Beer: Find a range of the usual ballpark suspects here from hamburgers to chili cheese fries and chicken fingers alongside draft beers, sodas, and shakes. [Section 104]
Miller Lite Pitcher’s Pub: This bar adjacent to Gate B offers bacon cheeseburgers, chicken pitas, salads, hummus plates, and garlic fries. There’s also a full bar with beer and liquor. [Section 104]
Beer Kiosks: Find draft and canned beers at these stops scattered around the ballpark as well as peanuts, pretzels, and non-alcoholic beverages. [Sections 101, 111, 117, 128, 136, 138, 145, 322, 333, 344]
Big League Grill: Visit these stands for the classics — hot dogs, kielbasa, nachos, ice cream, lemonade cups, popcorn, and the all important peanuts and cracker jacks. They’re everywhere in the park. [Sections 108, 130, 143, 149, 151, 213, 325, 327, 331, 339, 343]
Dippin’ Dots: Get those weird frozen ice cream pellets here. [Sections 129, 151, 213, 334]
Little Caesars: Cheese, meat, pepperoni, and veggies, this is all pizza all the time. [Sections 115, 137, 217, 323, 334, and in the Comerica Bank Big Cat Court]
Nacho Kiosk: Find two styles of nachos here alongside hot dogs and Italian sausages. [Section 116]
Popcorn Kiosk: As the name implies there’s plenty of hot popcorn at this stop as well as cotton candy. [Section 138]
Grab-n-Go: Find packaged items including sandwiches, beer, soda, juices, whole fruit, yogurt, salads, and Germack snacks. There’s also lighter options like caprese salad and fruit cups. [Section 131]
Special Perks
Comerica Bank customers who show their card at the VIP gate at the Comerica Entry will be able to skip the line and receive a $25 credit when they connect their card to the Comerica Bank Mobile Wallet in the MLB Ballpark App. The mobile wallet can be used to order and pick up concessions, and for in-seat ordering at select seat locations.
